  Current Projects:
Does wetland vegetation shift irreversibly when water levels decline? My work on the declining water levels of Lake Michigan suggests that Typha x glauca (hybrid cattail) might be a permanent feature of eutrophic wetlands, even after water levels rise, as this invasive hybrid is more inundation tolerant than its native parent. Using field and remote-sensing approaches, I will characterize changes and test resilience of the Lake's coastal wetlands.
