  Current Projects:
I am currently exploring the role of topographic heterogeneity in increasing halophyte diversity in salt marsh restoration sites in southern California. I am examining the competitive relationship between Salicornia virginica (the increasingly aggressive local dominant) and Salicornia bigelovii (an annual species that has not persisted in past restoration sites) at various flooding depths in the greenhouse and in created topographic depressions in the salt marsh at Tijuana Estuary.
