Mesocosms at UW Madison Arboretum planted with Typha x glauca (hybrid cattail). I am using the mesocosms to test the effects of varying water levels and nutrient levels on growth of the plants.

Air photo of Lulu Lake (lower right), Eagle Spring Lake (top), and wetlands, near Mukwonago, Wisconsin. I will use a series of air photos to track the spread of hybrid cattail (seen here as lighter colored circles) over time.

Sedge meadow, Mukwonago Creek, and Lulu Lake near Mukwonago, Wisconsin. This photo shows the area near the center of the above image. These wetlands are managed by The Nature Conservancy.

This image shows an area of a sedge meadow where hybrid cattail has invaded and replaced the native wetland plants.
