We have several areas of ongoing research mostly in Hawaii and Wisconsin.  Current projects include:

- Sensitivity of Hawaiian high-elevation and aquatic ecosystems to climate change.

- Hawaiian Biocomplexity Project. The interactions among climate, culture, and ecosystems during a thousand years of Hawaiian agriculture.

- Biocomplexity: Divergent Dynamics. Complex Interactions of Riparian Land, People and Lakes.  Find a poster here.

- Fire and vegetation heterogeneity in time and space. Landscape dynamics of fire, insects, and climate on a sand plain in northwestern Wisconsin.

- High-resolution vegetation and climate history in Wisconsin and the Great Lakes region.

- Determining paleo-fire regime as a basis for native plant community restoration, Effigy Mounds National Monument.
