PAUL ALLEN MEMORIAL LECTURE
The Paul Allen Memorial Lecture was established to prove funds for a visiting lecturer every other year. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in Professor Paul Allen's name from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.

JOHN T. McCULLOUGH MEMORIAL
The John T. McCullough Memorial Funds was established for the uses and purposes of the Department of Botany as determined by the Chairperson of the Botany Department. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in Professor John T. McCullough's name from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.

HERBARIUM:

E. K. and O. N. ALLEN HERBARIUM FUND
The E.K. and O. N. Allen Memorial Fund was established to provide support for the Wisconsin State Herbarium, University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Herbarium is involved in interactive maps of the Wisconsin State Herbarium plant specimen collection database, with state biological information provided by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources - Integrated Science Services. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in E.K. and O.N. Allen's name from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.

BOTANY GARDEN AND GREENHOUSES:

BOTANY GARDEN AND GREENHOUSES
The Botany Gardens and Greenhouses are blossoming with new expansion. The Botany Garden will become a larger, more welcoming sanctuary as the expansion got underway in June 2003. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.

CLASS OF 1952 BOTANY GARDEN RENOVATION
The Class of 1952 Botany Garden Renovation Fund was created in January 2, 2002. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Class of 1952 has identified a goal of $100,000 to name the Garden's central plaza. The expansion of the Garden will permit a greater diversity of plans species from around the world, better spacing among the plantings, and the development of such specialized habitats as prairie, marsh and rock gardens. Added features will include a central plaza, gazebo, pond, benches, pergola, and walkways. The expanded Garden will greatly enhance the instructional, research and aesthetic value of the facility.

FELLOWSHIPS , SCHOLARSHIPS, TEACHING AWARDS:

O. N. ALLEN GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP FUND
The O. N. Allen Memorial Fund was established to provide for a fellowship award in the botanical sciences for full-time graduate students who are majoring in botanical sciences. Primary consideration is given to outstanding scholarship and high academic standing, with need and extracurricular activities also considered. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in Professor Allen's name from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations

JUDITH CROXDALE MEMORIAL FUND
Professor Judith Croxdale passed away suddenly in June 2002. Professor Croxdale is remembered for her research ("Spuds in Space” Program) and for her tireless and dedicated teaching of undergraduate and graduate students. A scholarship program for Women in Science was established in her name. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in Professor Croxdale's name from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.

J. T. CURTIS MEMORIAL
The J. T. Curtis Memorial Fund was created to establish an award for the undergraduate student who, each year, writes the best paper on a plant ecological subject, as determined by an appropriate faculty committee. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in Professor Curtis' name from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.

JOHN JEFFERSON DAVIS MEMORIAL
The John Jefferson Davis Memorial Fund was established to support one to three "Davis Summer Fellowships" to be awarded to worthy teaching assistants. The selection shall be the responsibility of the Fellowships and Scholarships Committee. Money may be allocated for collecting trips and fieldwork in connection with research. Undergraduates may also be encouraged to enter Botany as a profession by giving them aid on certain research projects. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in Professor Davis' name from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.

KENNETH B. RAPER MEMORIAL
The Kenneth B. Raper Memorial Fund shall be used to support the Department of Botany's needs. The Department of Botany determined that that the fund shall provide travel funds for graduate students attending research conferences. FOLKE SKOOG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Folke Skoog Memorial Fund was created to honor the memory of Professor Skoog, who passed away on February 15, 2001. Professor Skoog was a member of the National Academy of Sciences and had a long and illustrious career in the Department of Botany. Professor Skoog contributed to the Department of Botany's preeminence with his discovery of a previously unknown class of plant hormones - cytokinins. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in Professor Skoog's name from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.

ELDON NEWCOMB TEACHING AWARD
The Eldon Newcomb Teaching Award was created to annually honor botany teaching assistants who display excellence in teaching. Professor Newcomb is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and is held in high esteem as a teacher and researcher. The fund welcomes contributions and bequests in Professor Newcomb's name from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.
