Note: This deciduous tree is suitable as a street tree, for lawn shade and as a bonsai. Japanese Zelkova is resistance to Dutch elm disease. This tree is a good source of timber in Japan. Monitor plant for wilts, phloem necrosis, spider mites and leaf miner. Prefers sunny, moist, well-drained, ordinary garden soil.
