Note: This attractive vine is suitable for strong arbors, pergolas, fences, or trellises. The fragrant flowers of this plant appear before the leaves. This high maintenance vine needs to be pruned twice each year, once in the early Summer, and once in the Winter. To stimulate flowering an application of superphosphate in early Spring is a necessity. Root pruning in late Fall will stimulate flowering of Wisteria for the following Spring. This vine can be trained to a shrub appearance or take a tree form. Prefers sunny, moderately dry, well-drained, slightly acidic, organic-rich soil.
