Note: This monoecious, rhizomatous plant is suitable for water gardens, bog gardens, and near ponds or streams. Since Common Cattail may become invasive, planting in containers is recommended. Both fresh and dried flowers are commonly used in arrangements. Prefers sunny to partly shady, wet, rich loamy soil.
