Note: This deciduous, flat-needled conifer is suitable for large areas such as parks and lawns. This plant has an attractive orange-brown Fall foliage. Bald cypress wood is commonly used in the production of shingles, barrels, and railroad ties. Monitor plant for twig blight, spider mites, gall mites, and chlorosis in alkaline soils. Bald Cypress is the state tree of Louisiana. Prefers sunny, wet, well-drained, sandy, acidic soil.
