Note: This tender perennial has fragrant flowers, and is primarily grown as an annual. Flowering Tobacco is suitable for edging, borders, beds, or containers. Most nurseries that offer N. alata are usually providing N. X sanderae. N. X sanderae is a cross between N. alata and N. forgetiana. Monitor plant for tobacco mosaic virus, aphids, and beetles. Prefers sunny, moderately dry, well-drained, ordinary garden soil.
