Note: The flower of this rhizomatous, lemon-scented foliage
plant attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The Oswego Indians
of New York State used the leaves of Beebalm for tea. Oswego tea is another
common name for this plant. The foliage is also used in salads. Monitor
plant for Japanese bettles, rust, and powdery mildew. Prefers sunny to
part shady, moist, well-drained, organic rich soil.
