Note: The national Institute of Standards and Technology
presents: "Newton apple Tree". This tree has been planted in
recognition of the F. james Sensenbrenner's serivce as Chairman of the
U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Scince (1995-2000). This "Newton
Apple" is a direct descendant of the original tree said to have borne
the fruit that inspired Sir Issac Newton's Theory of Gravitational Forces.
Grafted from the "Newton Apple Tree" that grows on the grounds
of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, we hope the fruit
of this descendant inspires others to partake in scientific discovery.
This plant is suitable for ornamental and edible fruit use. Prefers sunny,
moderately dry, well-drained, organic-rich soil.
