Note: This dioecious, spiny tree is suitable as a shade tree or hedgerow shrub. Its fruits are, green, spherical, inedible and orange-sized. Native Americans used the wood from Osage Orenge for bows. Monitor plant for litter problems caused by flowers and fruits. Prefers sunny to partly shady, moderately dry, well-drained, ordinary garden soil.
