Defining Morphology: Floral Features: Flowers are unisexual or unisexual and actinomorphic. Plants monoecious or dioecious. Flowers are petaloid constitute of 6 or 3 sepals, with nectarines. Stamens are 6 and pistils 3 to 9 (carpels are free). Ovaries are superior. Fruit and Seed Features: Dicotyledon. Fruit a bundle of fleshy follicles, berries or drupes. Vegetative Features: Habit as shrubs or trees, mostly twining. Leaves are alternate, compound, mostly palmate and estipulate.

Distribution: Southeastern Asia and Chile.

Economic Use: As cultivated garden ornamentals. Fruits of some species are edible.
