Note: This clump-forming perennial is suitable for woodland, shade, or rock gardens. Its basal leaves have two large lobes, hence the common name "Twinleaf". Fruit pods are pear-shaped and ornamental. The name of this plant's genus, Jeffersonia was given to this plant in honor of president Thomas Jefferson. Monitor plant for snails and slugs. Prefers partly shady to shady, moist, well-drained, organic-rich soil.
