Note: This shrub is suitable for mass planting, specimensand as a hedge or accent for patio or home foundations. Unlike other Hydrangeas Big Leaf Hydrangea blooms on both old and new shoot growth. When grown in highly acidic medium the flowers change to a blue color. Inflorescences appear as Lacecap (flatttened) with fertile and sterile flowers and Mophead (globose) with sterile flowers. Monitor plant aphids, leaf spot, bud blight, mildew and bacterial wilt. Prefers partly shady, moist, well-drained, organic-rich soil.
