Note: This plant is suitable for mass planting, borders, next to streams or ponds, hedges, and as a specimen. Each flower lasts only one day. Spent flowers should be removed routinely to maintain quality of appearance. Monitor plant for canker, leaf spot, blight, rust, whiteflies, aphids, caterpillars and Japanese beetles. Leaf scorch is common in dry soils. Prefers sunny, fairly wet, well-drained, moderately organic-rich soil.
