Note: This plant is suitable for bog gardens, water gardens, Japanese gardens and along pond or stream margins. Scouring Rush can be grown in up to 4 inches of standing water. Equistum is not a true Rush, it is a seedless plant which reproduces by spores. Since this rhizomatous plant spreads quickly, using soil barriers is recommended to restrict growth. Prefers sunny to partly shady in wet, sandy-loam soil or still water.
