X rubrum) Habit: Herbaceous Perennial Height: 0.5 to 1.5 foot Width: 0.75 to 1 foot Flowering Season: Spring Flower Color: Crimson-yellow-gray Propagation: Seed or division Zone: 4-8 (A. alpinum). 5-9 ( A. X rubrum) Note: This clump-forming rhizomatous plant is suitable for border fronts, wild and woodland gardens. It makes a very good choice for shaded areas of rock gardens. Prefers partly shady to shady, moist, well-drained, organic-rich soil.
