Note: This perennial sedge is suitable for containers, bog gardens, or near streams and ponds. The Umbrella Sedge can be propagated by trimming the inflorescence and bracts 1/2 their length, and then setting it in moist sand. Prefers partly shady, moist, well-drained, ordinary garden soil.
