Note: This plant has beautiful flowers that appear on the branches and trunk before the leaves unfold. Leaves are heart-shaped, and turn yellow during the Fall season. Redbud is suitable for borders, as a specimen, or for mass planting. Monitor for caterpillars, tree hoppers, leafhoppers, scale, leaf spots, Verticillium wilt, and canker. Pruning dead branches, fertilizing, and regular watering are recommended. Prefers sunny, moderately dry, well-drained, sandy-loam soil.
