Defining Morphology: Floral Features: Inflorescences are indeterminate in racemes (short, male), or in heads (female). Plants dioecious. Flowers are unisexual. Fruit and Seed Features: Dicotyledon. Fruit a follicle. Seeds have wing and oily Endosperm. Vegetative Features: Habit as dioecious trees with deciduous leaves. Leaves are alternate (on the short-shoots), or opposite (on the long-shoots) and simple. Lamina palmately or pinnipalmately are veined. Stipulate.

Distribution: Southeast Asia.

Economic Use: As source of timber in Asia and widely grown as a cultivated garden ornamentals.
