Note: This deciduous shrub is suitable individually as an ornamental tree or as a group for naturalized areas, woodland gardens and next to ponds and streams. In the Spring, showy flowers appear before the leaves emerge. The fruits resemble bluberries and after they mature (midsummer) can be used in pies, jam and jellies. This cultivar has excellent disease resistance and attractive orange-red fall foilage color. Prefers sunny to partly shady, moist, well-drained, ordinary garden soil.
