Note: Most plants in cultivation have ornamental, colorful leaves known as Joseph's-Coat. This low maintenance plant can be used for borders, beds, and containers. Plants may require staking. Root rot can occur in poorly drained soil. Susceptiblity to aphids, aster yellow virus, and fungal leaf spot is a concern. Prefers sunny to partly shady, moist, well drained, ordinary garden soil.
