Note: This plant can be used for borders, beds, or hanging baskets. Plants may require staking. The seeds of this low maintenance plant are edible. Love-lies-bleeding is cultivated in India and South America as a food plant. Root rot may occur in poorly drained soil. This plant is susceptible to aphids, aster yellow virus, and fungal leaf spot. Prefers sunny to partly shady, moist, well drained, ordinary garden soil.
