Green Algae I: Introduction and Prasinophyceans

Here, we introduce students to the massive re-organization of green algal
classification based on ultrastructural and molecular data that has occurred in
the past three decades, providing numerous helpful illustrations. Such
information, together with Chapter 21, will be of particular interest to
botanists and botany majors interested in the evolutionary history of land
plants. Features of the primarily marine flagellates known as prasinophyceans
are also described.
