Habitat:  Woodland path, bank above spring, north-facing slope; with Viola sororia, Pilea pumila, Aster ontarionis, Ribes missouriense, Rhamnus cathartica, Carex granularis, Elymus virginicus, Fragaria virginiana, canopy of Tilia americana, Quercus rubra, Q. alba small, clonal population of about 20 stems, to 2 ft. high.
 
Text:  Rays white, mostly fallen (6-7 where present), lvs. sagittate, scratchy above, hairy below, sharply toothed, upper ovate.
