Habitat:  2006: Mesic to wet-mesic site with high canopy closure. Canopy of Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Ostrya, Celtis occidentalis. Associates include Asarum, Solidago flexicaulis, Desmodium glutinosum, Polygonum virginianum, Laportea canadensis, Carex sp. Species on rise at edge of swale, not present where Matteuccia and Osmunda are dense and robust.
 
Text:  Ca. 100 stems, loosely clumped into 14-20 groups. Almost all stems were in fruit, a few mature, non-flowering stems. Site is opposite the mouth of Hall's Creek, a Black River tributary.
