Habitat:  Unplowed sod, currently old field, grazed by cattle until 1995, dominated by Poa pratensis and Elytrigia repens with scattered conservative prairie plants like Amorpha canescens, Dodecatheon meadia, and Veronicastrum virginicum. Pale purple coneflower on plot of less than 1 acre, but there are about 15 acres here of unplowed sod with scattered prairie plants.
