Habitat:  Needle mat under canopy of a few 2-300 year old Pinus strobus, with many mature and some sapling Thuja occidentalis and sapling Abies canadensis. With Trientalis borealis, Maianthemum canadense, Actaea rubra, Aralia nudicaulis, Corallorhiza maculata,. Botrychium virginianum, Ribes lacustre, Aquilegia canadensis, and sterile Osmorhiza and Oryzopsis.
