Habitat:  The plants occur in a relatively shaded portion of northern wet forest with an overstory dominated by black spruce, yellow birch, red maple, and balsam fir. A shrub component of tag alder and bog birch is present at the site. The understory associates are Ledum groenlandicum, Trientalis borealis, Pyrola chloranta, P. secunda, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Gaultheria procumbens, G. hispidula, Osmunda cinnamomea, Maianthemum trifolium, and Carex trisperma. The Pyrola minor plants occur in a wetland area with small Sphagnum moss hummocks.
 
Text:  The three individuals which had bloomed clearly had the short and straight style of this species. Population of 30-35 individuals- 10% of in fruit, 90% seedlings/juveniles in 10 sq. ft. area.
