Habitat:  Under light shade of Acer saccharum, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, and Ostrya virginiana. With Solidago canadensis, Apocynum androsaemifolium, Aster macrophyllus, and Dactylis glomerata. These on mesic, fine textured, somewhat rocky soil.
 
Text:  Abundant along both sides of road and in adjacent fields. Flowers deep blue and white.
