Paleoecology Section

of the Ecological Society of America

insight into long-term ecosystem dynamics

Meetings

The section meets regularly at the annual meeting of the ESA. Usually a session of Paleoecology talks and poster presentations is held, as well as a paleoecology-oriented symposium. We also hold an annual business meeting. (Times are listed in the ESA meeting program).

2004: "Cultural and environmental controls on past fire regimes in inhabited woodlands." Organized by Bryan Shuman, at the 89th ESA Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon.

2003: Severe insect outbreaks in North American forests: recent trends, long-erm recurrence, and the role of climate."  Organized by Dan Gavin and Matt Ayres, at the 88th ESA Annual Meeting in Savannah, Georgia.
