Paleoecology Section

of the Ecological Society of America

insight into long-term ecosystem dynamics

Overview

The Paleoecology Section is a subdivision of the Ecological Society of America , and is governed by the Constitution and Bylaws of that Society.

The Paleoecology Section strives to promote, coordinate, and otherwise assist research in all branches of theoretical and applied ecology that uses paleoecological methods or historical documentary sources to gain insight into long-term ecosystem dynamics; and to help disseminate the knowledge gained through this research to investigators in other scientific disciplines, to other learned societies, and to the general public.

Members of the Ecological Society of America can join the Paleoecology Section by payment of US$3.00 section membership dues at the time of your ESA membership renewal. If your ESA membership has been renewed and you would like to join the Paleoecology during the current year, please contact the ESA Membership Coordinator. Section dues are used to defray the costs of a business meeting at the ESA Annual Meeting, and to further the goals of the Paleoecology Section by sponsoring theme symposia and the Edward S. Deevey Award for Student Excellence in Paleoecology.
