Aquatic Plants
Aquatic plants have evolved into several different lineages of flowering plants, ferns, and fern allies. Submersed species, which live quietly below the glittering surface of ponds, lakes, and streams, often display extraordinary adaptations to life under water. They show remarkable convergence with each other in leaf form, growth habit, and floral morphology as well as noticeable divergence from their ancestors and relatives on land.
