Note: This twining, rhizomatous, dioecious plant produces the bitter tasting "hop" used in the production of beer. Flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies. Common Hop is suitable for arbors and trellises. Prefers sunny to partly shady, moist, well-drained, ordinary garden soil.
