Emeritus professor Robert Kowal discovers a new species:

a sunflower from Isle Royale

 Packera insulae-regalis is a new species of sunflower discovered by emeritus professor Robert Kowal, together with UW–Stevens Point biology and forestry professor Emmet J. Judziewicz and Williams College biology professor Joan Edwards. It is known only to exist in a small niche on Isle Royale National Park.
